From the first contact a potential employee has with TU/e, to the end of their contract (i.e. inflow, throughflow, and outflow). Job Description

As part of the ICT team of the TU/e, the product team HRM contributes to efficiency and effectiveness of business operations by offering intelligent solutions and integrated standard HR platforms. We focus on optimized HR end-to-end processes, for the maximum candidate & employee experience 

As product owner HRM, you are reporting to the HR Manager Operations who is the responsible business owner for all HR systems. You work in partnership with the product team HRM, in this team are 7 functional HR specialists (including a scrum master,  organized to work dedicated for the maintenance, improvement and implemenation of HR applications and continues improvement on the digital support of HR processes. Together you are responsible for the functional management (business information management) of the TU/e HRM operations landscape. This includes the various core HR processes including Payroll as well as Recruitment, Learning & Development processes and processes in the area of OSHER (Organizational Health, Safety, Environment & Radiation services). The team works in close cooperation with the other TU/e ICT Product Teams and colleagues in the HRM department. The product portfolio includes the systems AFAS & Grade Varbi (ATS).  

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Product Owner to join our HRM team. You will be responsible for developing and executing the product roadmap, defining and prioritizing features, to ensure stakeholder satisfaction.  

Key responsibilities: 

  • Ensure strategic alignment of the product team by defining and continuously refining the product vision, goals and roadmap. 
  • Understand stakeholder needs and translate them into product backlog items. 
  • Prioritize and manage the product backlog to ensure alignment with stakeholder needs and strategic goals. 
  • Act as an ambassador for the services and as the primary contact for queries related to the services. 
  • Protect the long term (technical and/or domain) integrity of the product and ensuring that the quality is sufficient. 
  • Represent the interests of the teams in quarterly planning and PO sync sessions. 
  • Participate in stand-ups, review and retrospective events. 
  • Stay up to date with trends and developments in the HR and ICT field and share knowledge and best practices with the team.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, Business Administration, HRM or related field. 
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Product Owner, preferably of a product team responsible for HRM. 
  • Experience in acting as a primary contact person towards the team, showing Agile leadership (act as a role model) and the ability to successfully interact with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels in the organization which have different requirements. 
  • Experience with the Scrum methodology 
  • Knowledge of HRM processesand of HRM platforms is a must, knowledge of AFAS is a big plus. 
  • Experience in stakeholder management and alignment in a complex environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication in both Dutch and English.

  • A monthly salary of minimum €4.537,- to maximum €6.209,- for full-time employment, depending on your knowledge and experience (salary scale 10 collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities).

HRM is part of the SQUAD program (Support QUAlity Drive). SQUAD is a relevant step in achieving our Strategy 2030 goals and provides HRM with opportunities to strengthen HR services, collaboration, and processes. HRM started the SQUAD program in April 2022. This will continue with the implementation of the HRM Change Plan in 2025 and beyond. The program aims to test the quality of HR service delivery at our university, among other things, through critical reflection, external reviews, and change plans.
