Do you enjoy shaping long-term strategy while also making sure day-to-day educational processes run smoothly? Are you a natural bridge-builder between policy and practice? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

Job Description

You will play a key role in shaping our education policy and ensuring the smooth coordination of our bachelor’s and master’s programs. You combine strategic thinking with hands-on organization, translating departmental ambitions into concrete actions that benefit both staff and students.

Your challenges

  • Play a key role in developing, aligning, and implementing our departmental education policy in line with TU/e’s strategic framework.
  • Translate strategic ambitions into concrete proposals, plans, and projects.
  • Advise the program directors, ESA manager, and committees on regulations, quality assurance, and curriculum developments.
  • Lead and coordinate our upcoming program (re)accreditations, aligning regulations, quality assurance, and curriculum development with national and TU/e standards.
  • Streamline program processes and decision-making, ensuring that all stakeholders — from program directors to student advisors — are informed, engaged, and working towards the same goals.
  • Represent the department in TU/e-wide policy projects and be an active member of the policy chain. Work closely with program directors, teachers, and student advisors to ensure smooth curriculum planning and execution.
  • Act as a point of contact for both staff and students regarding program-related questions.

Where you’ll work

You will join the Education and Student Affairs (ESA) team at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry. We are a small, dedicated group that supports students, advises teachers, ensures quality, and implements educational strategy. As one colleague puts it: “Switching between projects, structuring processes, and keeping an overview — that’s what makes this role exciting every single day.”

Job Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrable affinity with educational management and program organization.
  • Experience in an academic environment.
  • Proven knowledge of policymaking, with experience in translating strategy into practice and guiding accreditation processes.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple dossiers and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to navigate different interests and build consensus.
  • Proficiency in both English and Dutch at C1 level.

If you are concerned that you don’t meet all the requirements sufficiently, but the job does excite you, then be sure to respond, we would love to look at your profile.
