We’re looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, and persevering professional to support our internationally renowned team and help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our dynamic research group.

Job Description

You will join the Plasma & Materials Processing (PMP) group within the Department of Applied Physics and Science Education. PMP is a world-leading research group specializing in the science and technology of (plasma-based) preparation of nanomaterials, with a strong focus on experimental work. Our research  targets critical applications in next-generation chips—spanning electronics, photonics, and quantum technologies—as well as in emerging energy solutions, including next-generation solar cells and batteries, as well as hydrogen production. We maintain close collaborations with industry partners both within the Brainport region and globally, engaging with many of the world’s leading technology companies. The group’s research has played a key role in driving innovations that have found their way into cutting-edge industrial products.

The PMP group is based in the Flux building on the TU/e campus and carries out research in 700 m² of dedicated laboratory space in the Spectrum building. Much of the research is carried out within the state-of-the-art NanoLab@TU/e cleanroom. With 6 full-time professors, 3 part-time professors, 4 technicians, and around 35 PhD researchers and postdocs, PMP is a vibrant, diverse, international and dynamic research group—an ideal environment for talented and ambitious scientists and support staff to excel.

Responsibilities

As a Management Assistant you provide secretarial and administrative support for the staff members of the research group, enabling them to focus on their core activities. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the group's (administrative) systems, procedures and tasks, related to students and PhDs, personnel and guests.
  • Organizing various types of meetings and events, such as PhD defenses, conferences, workshops, group activities, etc.
  • Drawing up and managing the administrative aspects of projects and assisting in collecting relevant information for group and project progress reports.
  • Ensuring progress and efficiency within the research group and/or project teams by coordinating activities, tracking agreements, and maintaining documentation (and related systems), in close collaboration with departments such as HR and Finance.
  • Facilitating internal communication within the group and keeping the PMP web page up to date.

Job Requirements

  • Secretarial and / or administrative training at MBO or HBO level.
  • Experience in a comparable role and working environment is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English, written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills and willingness to learn other applications (such as Wordpress and Adobe Illustrator).
  • Organization skills and ability to set priorities.
  • Proactive, service- oriented and flexible personality.

Conditions of employment

  • Full-time employment (1 fte), with the option for 0.8 fte.
  • A monthly salary of minimum €2.899 to maximum €3.809 for full-time employment, depending on your knowledge and experience (scale 7 collective labour agreementfor Dutch Universities).
  • A one year contract, with the prospect of a permanent position.
  • In addition to vacation pay, a structural end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
