Job Description

We are looking for a visionary professional who will help redefine how light and lighting knowledge is shared—both with students and lifelong learners. Your mission: to create an engaging, future-proof learning experience that combines cutting-edge technology with the latest educational insights.

You will design innovative learning paths using a state-of-the-art Learning Experience Platform (LXP), ensuring personalized education for diverse learners. You will create rich and dynamic content—video lectures, podcasts, books, and scientific papers—that makes complex topics accessible and inspiring. Support for the platform will be fully facilitated, so you can focus on creativity and impact.

You will be embedded in the Building Lighting Group and works in close collaboration with TU/e Innovation Space and educational experts. Together, we aim to transform light and lighting education into an interactive, inclusive, and globally relevant experience. Your work will not only advance academic excellence but also contribute to educating more lighting professionals and therefore aiming for a sustainable and well-lit built environment.

Job Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of light and lighting design and engineering
  • Motivated academic holding a master’s or PhD in lighting design or lighting engineering, or equivalent credentials that include a minimum of 60 EC in courses focused on light and lighting.
  • Passionate about education and learning innovation
  • A team player who enjoys collaborating with professionals in an interdisciplinary environment
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results on schedule
  • Excellent written and verbal proficiency in English, combined with strong communication and leadership skills.

Conditions of Employment

  • Full-time employment for 1 year.
  • A monthly salary of minimum € 3,546 to maximum € 5,538 for full-time employment, depending on your knowledge and experience (scale 10 collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities).
  • In addition to vacation pay, a structural end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
