Job Description

The faculty of Electrical Engineering (EE) offers two Bachelor and two Master programs. The program director and his management team are responsible for the content and the quality of these programs. To enable a smooth operation the Education and Student Affairs (ESA) team supports the program management team and is responsible for facilitating all processes related to education. This includes setting up the curriculum process and the study schedule, executing the quality assurance cycle, preparing educational policy, and supporting educational innovations and organization of education.

In this position, you will be part of the ESA EE team. To get a better idea of the role, a small overview of our ESA operational is provided below:

For each of the Bachelor/Master programs we have regular program meetings including all contributing ESA members and the meeting is led by the Educational Coordinator. They take the information to the ESA operational team, which meets once a week. It consists of the Manager ESA, the educational policy advisor and the educational coordinators. This new role will also join the ESA operational team, taking the lead in coordinating long-term educational projects.

You will make a vital contribution to the organization and quality of the program and to the Electrical Engineering department.  You will work closely together with the Policy Officer to translate the TU/e and departmental educational vision into concrete goals. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of academic content, administration, and strategy implementation.

Some specific examples of your core activities are:

  • Support implementation of new Graduate School 2.0 curriculum in the Master's.
  • Prepare transitional arrangements for the Graduate programs.
  • Collect and analyze data from BI tool for preparation of reports.
  • Coordinate follow-up actions concerning strategic topics in the Bachelor and Master's programs.
  • Elaborate Professional development Plan in the Bachelor and Master's program together with Education Coordinator, Educational Advisor, and Policy Officer.
  • Identify items that are relevant for the Education Newsletter.
  • Evaluate results of the Gender scan at the department of Electrical Engineering, and together with Policy Officer, Program Director and Manager ESA, come up with an action plan.

Job Requirements

  • You hold an MSc degree in a relevant area, such as education development, sociology, policy.
  • You are capable of keeping the overview of the large-scale projects and multiple related subtasks;
  • As an enthusiastic, proactive, creative and thoughtful team player and professional, you can easily alternate between working individually and in groups;
  • You possess strong Dutch and English communication skills, both orally and written;
  • You understand the dynamics of a politically sensitive organization;
  • You demonstrate strong analytical skills and are a strong writer;
  • You have the ability to deal with different interests in the organization in a flexible and appropriate manner;
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with academic and administrative staff;
  • Experience in an academic setting is considered a plus.
