The mission of the Department of Electrical Engineering is to acquire, share and transfer knowledge and understanding in the whole field of Electrical Engineering through education, research and valorization. Research is carried out into the applications of electromagnetic phenomena in all forms of energy conversion, telecommunication and electrical signal processing. Existing and new electrical components and systems are analyzed, designed and built. The Electrical Engineering department takes its inspiration from contacts with high-tech industry in the direct surrounding region and beyond.

About Control Systems

The Control Systems (CS) group employs 11 permanent academic staff (full-, associate-, and assistant professors) and approximately 40 temporary staff (PhDs and PostDocs). Additionally, a technician, a technician/lecturer, a technician/project manager, a project/operations manager, and a Management Assistant (vacancy) are part of the permanent team.

The CS group provides education for various Bachelor and Master programs (Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology, Systems & Control and AI&ES - Artificial Intelligence & Engineering Systems) and conducts research into modeling and controlling complex dynamic systems. This includes artificial intelligence controls for high-precision mechatronics, autonomous vehicles, drones, and robots, modeling and learning controls for industrial processes and energy management systems, including in hybrid vehicles, etc.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity for managerial support in a pleasant research group with short communication lines and a flat organizational structure. As a Management Assistant, you will play a central role in supporting the smooth functioning of the group. You will act as the primary point of contact for the group and take on various responsibilities to ensure effective support and communication.

These include:

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for the group for students and external contacts.
  • Providing secretarial support to the group chair and staff members. This includes scheduling meetings, reserving rooms, ensuring administrative information is up to date and available for staff members.
  • Ensuring the correct internal processes and protocols are adhered to.
  • Calendar management for the group chair.
  • Assist in planning and organizing of workshops, seminars, conferences and other events.
  • Initiating and organizing social events for the group.
  • Welcoming new members in the group via an internal onboarding process.

Job Requirements

  • Secretarial or administrative education / experience with at least HBO level of thinking and working
  • Experience working with MS Office (agenda management via Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Sharepoint).
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language, spoken and written.
  • Organizational skills and being able to set the right priorities.
  • Being able to quickly master the organizational structure and procedures.
  • Flexible, service-oriented and proactive attitude.
  • Good social and communication skills with a positive mindset.

Conditions of employment

We offer you:

  • A monthly salary of minimum € 2.872 to maximum € 3.809 for full-time employment, depending on your knowledge and experience (scale 6 or 7 collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities).
